Where Am I?

There I am — rocking chair, straw fedora, round glasses, summer blazer, and a mason jar of sweet tea — sitting in the middle of a Pensacola street like I haven’t a care in the world.

But this spot is closer to darkness than it looks.

I’m less than a block from the scene of one of the most gruesome murders in Pensacola’s history. Today, the street looks calm. Traffic passes, people go about their day, and most have no idea what once happened nearby. But as every old detective knows, some places keep their secrets quietly.

So now the question is yours:

Where am I?

Do you recognize this location?

Drop your guess in the comments — and if you think you know which murder story I’m hinting at, go ahead and name that too.

I’ll reveal the answer tomorrow.
